Ekiwah Adler-Beléndez


Ekiwah Adler-Beléndez began writing poems at the age of 10, and had his first collection, titled Soy (I Am), published when he was 12. His first name means “warrior” in the Purepecha language. Adler-Beléndez has been battling cerebral palsy since he was born and his courage and eloquence have earned him a passionate following in his native Mexico and abroad. His most recent collection, Love on Wheels, deals with the richness and complexity of life in a wheelchair.
