Arthur Slade was raised in the Cypress Hills of southwest Saskatchewan and began writing at an early age. He is the author of 17 books, including Dust, a national bestseller which won the Governor General’s Award for Children’s Literature, Tribes, and the Hunchback Assignments series. The first volume in the Hunchback series won the prestigious TD Canadian Children’s Literature Award, and the second, The Dark Deeps, was a finalist for two Canadian Library Association awards. The latest installment is Island of Doom. Slade lives in Saskatoon.
